Actron is very pleased to announce that we have successfully purchased an additional 8000 square feet of manufacturing space directly across the street from our main facility. Formerly belonging to Actron Precision, we are re-united with this building that will become our machining building once the current tenants get relocated to another facility. This additional space brings Actron to 38,500 square feet total and gets us some room we desperately need for additional machining and assembly capacity. We do not get occupancy until the end of the year, but the plans remain the same:
These are a lot of ambitious plans, but they are all required to continue on with our lean journey and support our ever-more sophisticated manufacturing requirements as we continue to grow into new markets and capabilities.
Actron is pleased to announce the addition of a HAAS UMC-750 5-Axis machining center to our current portfolio of machines, providing us with even more sophisticated machining capabilities. This machine has true 5 axis, hi-speed machining capability and is equipped with all the bells and whistles with such equipment as touch probing, 12,000 RPM spindle, programmable coolant nozzles, halogen work lighting, rigid cast base and indexer, hi-pressure coolant, and a multitude of other features. It’s 30” x 20” x 20” work envelope will handle a large variety of products that our customers require.
5-axis machining is an effective means to reduce setups and increase accuracy for multi-sided and complex parts. The Haas UMC Series universal machining centers are cost-effective solutions for 3+2 machining and simultaneous 5-axis machining. The UMC-750 has an integrated dual-axis trunnion table with a 500 mm diameter platter that features standard T-slots and a precision pilot bore for fixturing versatility. The trunnion provides +110 and -35 degrees of tilt and 360 degrees of rotation to provide excellent tool clearance and large part capacity.

Let Actron quote on your next requirements for multi-axis machined parts. In addition to the UMC-750, we also have VF-4SS, VF-2SS and our large capacity VF-6SS and VF-11 milling machines capable of 4th axis machining.
Three employees from Actron’s management team attended the Quality of Leadership (QOL) program in Clemson, South Carolina taught by Dr. Mike Bagley. Dr. Mike has had over 7,000 graduates worldwide complete his class and has many success stories.
The objectives of the program
As one of the team members that went to the class, I can truly say that it was very inspiring and there was never a dull moment. Dr. Mike was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire course.
Here are some pictures from the class and a QOL shrine made after we came back!
Actron is pleased to announce that we have qualified for an FMA Safety Award of Merit for 2018 based on our safety performance record for 2017. This award is given out to companies that demonstrate their commitment to safety by having a very low incident rate. The award will be presented at the FMA headquarters in Elgin, IL at the 10th Annual Safety Conference April 18-19, 2018.
We felt it important to post an update regarding Actron, our employee’s and families, and the current situation in regards to the post Irma conditions. I am very happy to report that none of our employee’s or their families suffered any injuries during or after the storm. Although many of our employees suffered some losses due to wind, rain, and power outages, all in all we came thru this in good shape. Quite a few people left the area and others chose to remain, but we are all present and accounted for at this time. The Actron facilities suffered no damage at all and as of 9/13 when power was restored, we are 100% back up and operational. We are very fortunate that the storm took the path that it did and we want to thank the concern and well wishes received from our customers and employees during this stressful time. Our great team is working extra hours to make sure that as few of our customers as possible suffer any supply interruptions as a result of this storm. As always, we are here to answer any questions or concerns that you might have regarding your orders.
